Ok, so it is 2am Orlando time and I really should be sleeping because our wakeup call is only 5 hours away, but I had to stay up to share some of the awesome stuff I saw and heard at Leadership today (well, yesterday technically, but since I haven’t slept, I’ll call it today!
You can see LOTS MORE Pictures and details on my Facebook Page
But if you don’t feel like clicking just yet, here is a quick rundown of the day!
We started the day with swapping before the first General Session. Cute cards, right?!?![]()
Then Shelli Gardner took the stage to share how the company got start and some excitement that was to come. But she left most of the announcements to the presenters… which meant we had to wait!
Announcement 1: A new kit for guys to use, designed by guys – “Dude, You’re Welcome”. It even comes with this sticker.
Check out this video for a quick preview of what is inside the kit.
This kit is available Monday for $24.95.
Announcement 2: Starting Monday (or maybe even now) you can sign up for a new subscription program called Paper Pumpkin. It is stamps, ink, and supplies in a box mailed to you each month to create new projects. Its only $19.95 and that INCLUDES Shipping! They start shipping in March, but you can get on the list to get one of the first kits by visiting – www.mypaperpumpkin.com
If you decide to sign up, make sure you select your demonstrator’s name during the sign up process, or you can pick me – Jennifer Blomquist – if you don’t have a demo. ![]()
Then of course there were display boards, project demonstrations, lots of business sessions, and non-stop sharing!
Finally the night ended with our Pajama Party and Prize Patrol! I even won a stamp set and punch this year! So Cool!!
So, there are some highlights. If you have questions about the announcements feel free to leave me a comment or shoot me an email to jennifer@nwstamper.com

Quick Hello from Leadership!
Yesterday was travel and check-in day here in Orlando for the 2013 Leadership convention and I think I was going non-stop all day. From the overnight flight that only let me sleep for about 3.5 hrs total to Manager’s Reception going late into the evening at Harry Potter World! Its been a blast but I am so wiped that I went the easy route and decided to post my initial pictures up on Facebook.
So check out my Facebook event photo albums here
Today I’ll be taking my camera and having my cell phone charged and getting a ton more to share with you tonight!
In the meantime, this is the summary of my day ![]()
Check in at our hotel that is next door to the Convention center
Pick up our event packet and check out some previews of some cute projects!
Have dinner with some “old” and new friends
Catch a bus to Manager’s Reception at Harry Potter World and say hi to Shelli!
My feet are killing me but it was a great start to what I’m sure will be a fun and productive trip!

Stampin’ Up! Convention 2012–The Final Days
Jeepers! Thanks to extremely flaky internet access at the hotel, I wasn’t able to get these blog posts written up and posted in the evenings of Convention. But I wanted to post my summaries of the last two days at convention since I know a lot of you out there were interested in seeing what went on. For those of you interested in the Display Boards – for the sake of space, I’ll be posting them tomorrow in a separate post. But here is the final run down of a great convention:
Inspiring Stamping Presentations:
There were so many great ideas this year. I’m definitely going to use some in my classes over the next few months (scented embossing powder anyone?!) but here are a few highlights.
***Did you notice the Keep Calm hostess set??? It is coming back shortly!! Shelli couldn’t promise that they wouldn’t have to pull it in the future, so if you love it, get it now! ***
New Momento Mall Items!!
I figure that you can never go to Momento Mall too often.
There is always something cute to look at, a gift to buy, or your 2nd Day surprise! (Stamping themed cookie press stamps, garden flags, and a My Digital Studio 2 sampler)![]()
Hispanic Night and Prizes!
Friday night they hold Hispanic Night, which is a great event to learn about the differences and desires of the Hispanic market. Its actually super interesting to learn the cultural differences that I didn’t know about (like when someone would send out a card). And we were given the Quinciera stamp set to use for our make and take!!!! I LOVE this stamp set even though I don’t know anyone who is having a Quinciera anytime soon. But so pretty!
And I won a prize during Bingo! Christmas stamp set, Raspberry Ripple stitched satin ribbon, and Real Red glimmer paper!
Great Classes:
I went to lots of great classes. This sample was from a class by Tami White and Ronda Wade. They talked about what has helped them run successful businesses and it was great to hear different ideas and strategies from these great women.
Socializing and Relaxing at Lunchtime:
And did I mention Free Stamps!!!
During lunch on the last day, we received our convention incentive stamp set (provided you attended you classes and got the “secret word”. Then during closing session, we were given TWO more stamp sets!! Not to bad, huh? ![]()
Other Announcements:
There were also a number of announcements made including the following:
- The grand vacation is a Western Caribbean cruise on Royal Caribbean
- The getaway vacation is to San Diego
- Stampin’ Up! will be donating $3 (instead of $1) from each sale of the stamp set “Moving Forward” to the Ronald McDonald stamp set
- and an August special when you sign up to join Stampin’ Up! If you are not a demonstrator but are interested in learning more about this program, let me know and I’ll fill you in on all the details!
So there you have it! Convention is over but it was such an awesome trip! I hope you can join me next year for Stampin’ Up!’s 25th anniversary. I’d love to have you join my team and come celebrate with us next year! Curious? You can learn more about what it is like to join Stampin’ Up! and my team.

Get Inspired With This Great Video
So, today was going to be a post sharing a project I did recently; but then Stampin’ Up! released a video by Shelli Gardner talking about creativity and Stampin’ Up! and almost the entire video is the camera panning around some AMAZING sample rooms. Yes, rooms!
See, in the home office, they have this area that is kind of like a museum where they have set up different spaces like rooms in a house. Then, they have decorated the walls, the furniture, the surfaces, etc with décor and projects made using Stampin’ Up! materials. So, there will be Décor Elements (vinyl) on the walls and cards on the desk. Wall hangings and organization containers…you name it, they probably have it and have it looking like the showroom in a Pottery Barn type catalog.
When I was in town for convention a couple years ago, I got to wander through and it was awesome! Here is are a couple pictures of what it looked like at the time:
As you can see, lots of inspiration to be found! So, after watching this video from Shelli, I found even more inspiration and I knew I had to share it with you.
I’m going to watch it again and write down more things to try. First up is the pinwheel card that I really want to make. So, check it out and let me know what projects and ideas caught your eye.

Stampin’ Up! Regionals and Free Sneak Peek Stamp Set – Eat Chocolate
Man, yesterday was the Stampin’ Up! regional seminar in Portland, OR and I attended with my mom and my friend Sue. I flew into town late Thursday night with the hubby and Nicholas. I was very behind on getting ready and ended up not making swaps until 12:30am the morning of regionals. I ended up getting too tired and so I took my last few pieces and raced to finish my swaps before everything started.
Imagine my surprise when I heard “is this the last minute finishing of swaps?” and I started to respond and looked up to see the speaker was none other than Shelli Gardner herself! So, of course I had to get a picture (and how does she always take a perfect picture and I always look just a little goofy?) Anyway, this is me, Shelli, and my friend Sue.
That was super cool to chat with Shelli before things got started (we were actually on the path between the stage and the staff table so she stopped and chatted with us a couple times. She is a really cool lady).
I have tons of cards and techniques to share with you over the next many blog posts but today I wanted to share with you the AWESOME recruit promotions that Stampin’ Up! is offering for anyone signing up to be a demonstrator in the next two weeks.
