Easter Gift Bag to Welcome Spring with the Inspire Create Share Blog Hop

12711055_10153896754563048_5322321900990997775_o I’m back hopping again this month with the Inspire, Create, & Share team and our theme this month is Welcome Spring!  So, I came up with two project ideas for you using the springy-chick from the Sale-a-Bration set Honeycomb Happiness including an Easter Gift Bag and a card!

I’d love to hear what you think of them, so feel free to leave me a comment at the end!

Fun Easter Gift Bag with the Gift Bag Punch Board!

We all planned on making a 3D project, and I’ll admit, these are the hardest type of project for me to make!  I think really well in flat cards and scrapbook pages… so I decided to pull out my handy dandy Gift Bag Punch Board and make a cute treat bag, that would also give me a flat surface to decorate as well!  Here is what I came up with:

I had a lot of fun mixing and matching different ideas I had for this project into one big fun bag.

To make the base bag:

  1. Cut a 6″ x 12″ piece of your favorite pattern paper from the It’s My Party designer paper.
  2. Follow the instructions on the Gift Bag Punch Board to make the “L”/large gift bag.
  3. Adhere the pieces together for the gift bag using the Tear & Tape adhesive.  Seriously, this adhesive makes it SOOO much easier to go together.
  4. Decorate!

The punch board makes it so easy because it does all the scoring and punching for the strap holes and the side gussets.  Gotta love it when they make it easy for you!

Have fun decorating!

I started with the idea of stamping the chick from the Honeycomb Happiness stamp set (free with a $50 purchase during Sale-a-Bration), onto Crushed Curry cardstock and cutting him out.  Add a little Gold Wink of Stella to the tummy for a shiny shadow.

TIP- Run a piece of Tear & Tape adhesive along the bottom of the Pear Pizzazz cardstock and don’t take off the backing (makes it really easy to see). Then use the Fringe Scissors to cut just to the edge of where you have the tape before pulling off the tape backing and adhering to the bag.

I also used the Sunburst thinlit behind the Tea Lace doily… sunny day anyone?  Pool Party glitter ribbon for a bit of blue sky.., and then some Metallic sequins and the awesome Botanical Garden jewels for a little bit of extra pretty.  Honeycomb Happiness Easter Gift Bag Punch Board

And then, in addition to our 3D item, we were supposed to make a card as well, so I thought I’d share this quick and easy idea for using that same Honeycomb Happiness set!

Honeycomb Happiness chick Hello card

This time, all you do is line the edge of your card with your favorite patterned paper (this one is the Wildflower Fields paper from the Sale-a-Bration catalog).  Then just stamp your chick onto some Whisper White cardstock and color with your blender pen or aqua painters.

If you cut out your chick using the 2-1/2″ circle punch, it lays out fabulously over the larger size of the Metallic Doilies.  See… I told you these things are awesome! 🙂

Just to be different, I added a strip of Vellum cardstock behind my doily and across the whole card, and it is just a nice way to finish things off!  And if you are curious about any of the supplies I used on the cards, I have them all listed out at the bottom of the post… I knew I threw a lot on the bag and in this post. 🙂
