  • Bloomin’ Marvelous Embossed Treat Box

When I accidentally ordered 3 packs of the Kraft Treat Boxes because I thought you were getting one for the $2.95 not 4 boxes for the $2.95, I was initially bummed to have so many boxes; but now I’m almost out and have been loving experimenting with them!  This was my first time trying out embossing and die cutting the boxes but I just LOVE how it turned out.  What do you think?

I started out by grabbing my Window Frames framelits and cutting a hole in the top flap.  I will admit, it took some playing with which tabs to use and how to fold the box so that it would fit through the Big Shot.  In the end, I think I flipped over the first tab so only one tab on the white Multi-purpose Platform was being used.

Once I got it cut out, then I went back with my polka dot embossing folder and embossed just the top flap.  Again, it look a little manipulation and I think an extra tab on the platform being flipped out, but it eventually worked!

Then I just glued a piece of the Sycamore Street designer paper that I got free as part of the Sale-a-Bration promotion behind the hole for a pop of color.  I punched out the sentiment from the Bloomin’ Marvelous Sale-a-Bration stamp set and then added some flowers I created using the Boho Blossom punch.

Finally I finished it off with a band of the Sycamore Street designer paper (in one of the other patterns) to tie in the colors from the top to the side of the box.

Now it is the perfect gift to fill with treats and give to the next person who hosts a private class with me! Smile

I still have a couple dates left for the Sale-a-Bration promotion period, so contact me at jennifer@nwstamper.com if you want to have a fun night out crafting with some of your friends.  I bring the projects, you all just show up and have a great time!

  • Pennant Parade “Framed” Christmas Card

I hear from almost everyone I meet when stamping the infamous phrase “I’m not creative”… so I thought for this month’s team meeting, I’d share an idea for a card that was completely inspired by a card in our demonstrator magazine Stampin’ Success.  It was all about taking an idea you see somewhere, getting inspired by the idea, and then making it your own.

In this case, the idea was to punch or die cut a hole in a piece of cardstock and popping it up on dimensionals (foam dots) to give you a frame.  Then placing a cut or punched element in the middle of the frame.  In my case, I was inspired to pull out my Pennant Parade stamp set!

So, all the folks who attended my meeting in person got to make one of these cards themselves and everyone else I shared how to make the card via webcam.  But the key elements is to take a piece of Gumball Green cardstock (in this case a 4”x4” piece) and slide the 2 1/2” circle punch as far in as it will go towards the center of the cardstock.  Punch out your hole and run the remaining square through your Big Shot to add texture.

I added a piece of patterned paper from the Festival of Prints designer paper stack behind the circle cut out – directly on the card base.

Then everything else was popped up for dimension.  It looks like a lot but is actually a really fast and easy card since the tree is punched out with the Pennant Builder punch and the Merry was punched out with the Word Window punch.

But try this card idea with layering other punch shapes or your favorite framelit for different looks and styles!

  • A little love with the Rough Type alphabet

So, the May scrapbooking promotion was the kick in the pants I needed to commit to getting the rough type alphabet stamp set.  I loved the idea of a high quality clear mount alphabet but was initially on the fence.  Well, the incentive of free designer brads was enough for me to just go for it and boy am I glad I did!

Sure, it takes a little bit to label all of the stamps but once you do, it is so easy and fun to make all kinds of words.  In this case, I was playing and decided to spell out Love.  It also gave me a good excuse to play with my BigShot – both with the polka dot impression folder and my heart die.

    Stamps – Rough Type alpha
Ink – Melon Mambo, Rick Razzleberry, Old Olive
Paper – Melon Mambo CS, Rich Razzleberry CS, Whisper White CS, Cottage Garden DSP
Accessories – Polka Dot Impression folder, Rich Razzleberry ribbon, small heart punch, 1″ circle punch, Heart BigShot die
