After 5 fun days, my mom just left town last night. We spent pretty much every night crafting – trying new techniques, making projects, and making cards. So, I didn’t have much time to post to my blog (sorry!) but I did come away with a few neat things to show you!
Over the next few days, I’ll post up some of the different projects we did including
- making a storage box
- using glitter,
- some cards,
- coloring paper using shaving cream,
- and I’m sure more!
In the meantime, I figured I would post this small card I made this weekend as another way of using the word window punch. This is a quick and easy way to use the punch to add some interest without too much effort. I also pulled out my chalks for the first time to color in the bird, makes a nice light color don’t you think?
Sorry for the long lag in writing! This whole cross-country move thing has been much more complicated than I thought! My whole house has been packed up and in a truck for the last week, and my DH, myself, and our 3 cats have been staying at my MIL’s house until it was time for us to move to our new home in Portland. I managed to set aside a small bag worth of stamping supplies thinking I was going to have lots of time to use them but boy was I wrong. It wasn’t until last night that I was able to really start pulling them out. It was an interesting challange to see what I could make with the limited supplies I had. However, in the end I think I have a number of simple cards that I’m pretty happy with. I’ll be posting them over the next week as I finish my transition to Portland and unbury my craft room. Hope you like them!
My new order is in and boy am I excited. Sadly, it showed up just before the packers and movers showed up at my house so I only really had time to mount my stamps and gawk at all the goodies before most of it went away. However, I was smart and kept aside a bag full of stamping items so I will be able to play with some of my new supplies while waiting for the movers to deliver my craft room to Portland.
Coming soon – projects with the new filigree brads, awesome rub-ons, some new stamps including Baroque Motifs (I’ve been eyeing it forever and can’t wait to try it out!), and the scallop square punch. I’m sure there is more, but I know I won’t be able to keep away from those items.
Just wanted to post a quick note to say sorry for the delay in posts. Sorting our house in anticipation of our move has taken longer than I thought and has taken up my last few nights. However, check back this evening…I promise to post new card ideas!
After years of attending Stampin’ Up! workshops, I’ve finally taken the pluge as a SU demonstrator! They gave me an offer I couldn’t refuse – meet new people, share your love of stamping, get discounts, and even earn money while doing it. I have to say, I loved scrapbooking and card making before, but after looking at all of the examples and experiencing the support and enthusiasm of the SU family, I’m even more excited.
My plan is to use this blog as a place to post my samples, experiments, and let you know all of the great promotions as I hear about them from SU. I’d love to hear your thoughts about how I can make this blog better or anything else that is on your mind. For the next couple weeks, I’ll be here in Tulsa but then starting in September I’ll be moving to Portland, OR. I’m excited for the change and to start meeting the crafty folks in the Pacific Northwest.
