  • Cross My Heart Faux Stitched Love Card

Do you have a stamp set that you loved…bought… and now have no idea what to do with it?

Being a word puzzle person, I love these stamp sets that are word search/crossword designs.  I even bought the word search background stamp years ago.  But did I ever figure out how to use it?  Nope!

Well, my mom got the new Cross My Heart stamp set and while I thought it was really cool, I had no idea how you would use it.  So, I stamped a few images and have been making myself play with it.  Turns out, it was more fun than I expected!

This is actually one of the first cards I made with this set.  I was trying to use up some scraps from around my desk and so I just started layering elements together to create a simple little card.

One of the first things I knew I wanted to do was layer paper over the heart box to make it stand out.  So I stamped the sentiment on Whisper White and on Rose Red… then just cut out the Rose Red square to layer over the Whisper White.

Then I realized that the flower image fit really nicely in the small oval punch.  So I grabbed than and a scrap of the Natural Trim ribbon (one of my favorite things from the new catalog!) and did a little layering here too.

I felt like the top of the card was a little wide open, so I added some faux stitching with my white gel pen and accented my flower as well as the edge of the card.

And ta-da!  You have a card with bits, pieces, and scraps that

  • Patio Party Birthday!

Today is the day that I fly to SLC, so be checking back here and on my facebook page for updates from Convention.  But before I go, I wanted to share one more birthday card using the Patio Party designer paper and Make a Cake stamp set.

This card is actually really quick and easy to make because you simply stamp the cake image with Midnight Muse and color in with your markers.  The banners in the top half of the card are all part of one pattern in the Patio Party designer paper.  Then you just need to stamp the Bitty Banner sentiment and cut it out with the matching Itty Bitty Banners framelits!  Seriously, super quick!

The other colors in today’s card are Summer Starfruit and Raspberry Ripple.

Well, I’m off to pack up my swaps and head to the airport!  I’ll be back and sharing soon!

  • Got to Love Pennants!

Well, early this morning we are hoping on a train and headed south to Portland, OR!  I’m excited for this family trip and can’t wait to see friends and favorite haunts as we visit for the first time in a long time!  Portland will always hold a special place in my heart as it is the city where I not only got my start as a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator but it is also where became a mommy for the first time when my son, Nicholas was born here.  It’s a quirky, cool city, which is why I love it.

Anyway, while I’m traveling, I won’t have consistent access to internet, so if you need something from me, I should respond fairly quickly to email at jennifer@nwstamper.com (by checking it on my phone) or give me a call (425-765-6197) for a faster response!

In the meantime, here is another card I made up recently that I just love how it turned out.  I love the paper piecing with the cake; but I really really like how the pennants look hanging out the side of the cake matting.

These pennants were all created using the Banner Framelits set and I just cut out different sizes of banners and then glued them at varying distances from the edge of the Baja Breeze cardstock matting.  It gives a cool effect don’t you think?

The best part is, with the framelits making the banners, it makes this card a snap to put together!  Have I mentioned yet how much I love framelits? 🙂

  • A Raspberry Ripple and Primrose Petals Thank You

One of the things I love about the internet is that it allows me to connect with new stamping buddies and friends.  Recently, I was lucky enough to connect up with Angela.  I had actually referred her to a demo closer to her home but due to some circumstances she ended up connecting back up with me.  I got to meet her adorable family at my garage sale and so when she placed an order with me recently, I wanted to send her a special thank you card.  So, this is what went in the mail to her:

This card is a fun combination of a lot of new items:  new in colors – Raspberry Ripple and Primrose Petals, new stamps – Itty Bitty Banners and Make a Cake, new dsp – Patio Party, and new framelits – Banner framelits!  Plus, of course, the pennant punch.

I love how Make a Cake is perfect for paper piecing the middle layer of the cake…just you wait, you’ll be seeing more of that from me later. 🙂

So, to all my internet stamping friends and customers… I’m so glad to have met you – even if its only been virtually!  I’ll see you around the internets soon!

  • Make a Cake & Patio Party Sneak Peek

Ever have one of those patterned papers that needs space to show off?  Well, when playing with my Patio Party designer paper that is coming out in the new catalog, I really liked this print but it just doesn’t show off very well in a small piece.  So when I found this sketch, I thought it would be perfect for this paper!

The lanterns reminded me of a party, so I grabbed my new Make a Cake stamp set to help finish it off (and every cake needs a little bling, don’t you think).  I also have my Whisper White stitched grosgrain ribbon as an accent.  I have to say, it doesn’t really show up in pictures, but the stitching is a nice touch to just make the ribbon a bit more interesting.

And yep! Both of these (the ribbon and the paper) are available in my New Catalog Product Share along with the Stitched Satin ribbon and In Color Dahlias!

  • Stampin’ Up! Catalog Sneak Peek

I feel almost selfish, I ordered some of the new sneak peek products earlier this month and while I’ve been getting to know them; I haven’t done much sharing (aside from the In Color sampler bookmarks I included with mailed catalogs).

Well, I thought I would change that and share a card I made to play with a bunch of new things… can you guess how many new items are in this card?

    So, what is your guess?

If you said 5 items, I’d say nice job!  If you said 6, then you are exactly right! Smile

First off is the super cute paper called Patio Party that features the new In Colors.  I thought the banners design was cool enough on its own that I wanted to let it shine by being the focal point of the card.  Next, I added some of the new stitched grosgrain ribbon (Daffodil Delight in this case) for a border trim and to help my sentiment pop!  Ok, #3 – the stamp set called Itty Bitty Banners.  Now, I like sentiments and banners but I wouldn’t be loving this set as much if it wasn’t for the fact that there are new framelits to exactly match the stamps!!! woo hoo!!!  So, that is number 4, the matching Bitty Banner framelits!  I love how easy it makes my job at cutting out the sentiments.

So, that leaves 2 more new things to spot.  Well, they are new In Colors… first is the pink paper matting my paper in the middle of the card – it is the new Primrose Petals and it is super pretty.  And finally, I stamped my sentiment in the new blue called Midnight Muse.  I know, it is hard to tell but it is a really nice blue color.  Not quite as dark as Night of Navy but deeper than Island Indigo or Not Quite Navy.

Well, all of these things are available starting June 1.  but… did you know you can get them earlier than that?

Want to get these items now?

Did you know, that if you order the Stampin’ Up demonstrator starter kit (your choice of $125 worth of products for only $99 plus free shipping!) now, you are able to fill your starter kit with sneak peek items.  This includes multiple stamp sets, accessories, paper, and even the new firm foam ink pads in all of the Stampin’ Up! colors!
