Pastel Fun with Kinda Eclectic

Happy Thursday!  I have a quick share for you today using my beloved Kinda Eclectic stamp set in another totally different way.  This was another of my convention display board cards and one that was fun to see up on the boards:

Thoughts for this card

  • I love using this sun stamp image for a background on my projects (I have an awesome card storage box that I’ll be sharing soon that does this as well!) but when you switch up the colors it gives you totally different looks.
In this case I used:  Pistachio Pudding, Daffodil Delight, Perfect Plum, Smoky Slate, and Blackberry Bliss for the sentiment.
  • Add coordinating strips of cardstock behind your image to help emphasize the colors you chose.  If you keep your brightest color in the middle it will make that color really pop!

  • Add color around your punched images with a sponge dauber to help them stand out from the rest of your card.  Especially if you have a busy background like on this card.
  • Don’t be afraid to tear your paper!  It makes for an easy way to add texture and interesting layers without much work.

This card was fun because it was a totally unexpected color combination for me.  I think I found papers around my desk and I knew I wanted it light and it all came together.

If you want more fun ideas for color combinations or want to share your recent combos, I asked the other night on my Facebook page what color combinations folks had used recently and there were some great combos there as well!  So stop by, check it out, and then share what you have been using!
