  • Grungy Chic Winner for our Team Meeting Card Contest!

Grungy Chic Winner for our Team Meeting Card Contest!

I discovered that I had a bunch of pictures from my Team Stamp & Share event this spring that I never posted.  And as you can see from today’s card – they NEED to be shared!  So, today I thought I would share the winner from the card contest by Rosemary Bryson!

    Stunning, right?!

Her card was so amazing in person with all the layers and detailing, I just had to show some of the cute elements, so that even if you don’t make this exact card, you can use some of these fun ideas.

First up, I loved punching out this sentiment from the Yippee Skippee stamp set with the Wide Oval Punch (who knew it was a perfect fit?!)  But I especially love her embossing of the polka dots from the Perfect Pennants stamp set!  It looks like she mixed black and white embossing powder to create this cool frosty effect.

And the owl from the Baby, We’ve Grown stamp set… I always saw that as a baby only set but she proved me wrong!  This is reminding me to look at my stamp sets in different ways. Especially when you add a little flower for her “hair”. 🙂

She even made the inside fun too…. doesn’t it really finish the card?

I know I loved the inspiration from this card and always look forward to what she and the other gals come up with each month to share!  Rose does an amazing job organizing our team swap each month and that is always fun inspiration.

Plus, I’ll be running my next Stamp & Share for Stampin’ Up demos in July.  So if you are a Seattle-area demo or are interested in learning more about being a demo, let me know and I’ll make sure you get all the details!

Sign and Save: From May 28-June 30 you can join Stampin’ Up! at one of two great prices. We will continue to offer the traditional starter kit priced at $99 ($125 product value), but for four weeks only we will also be offering a reduced priced starter kit at the low price of $50 ($55 product value).Learn more here.

Weekly Deals and In Color Cardstock is Back for a Limited Time!

If you were watching when the Retirement List came out, you may have seen that the In Color cardstock that is retiring sold out within the first few hours of being up.  But I learned yesterday that Stampin’ Up was able to get a few more packages of each color and they have put them back up as available for purchase.  They told us that once these are gone, they are gone!  So, if you missed a favorite or just want to stock up a little bit more, now is your chance!

2012-2014 In Color Cardstock – Limited Quantities Available while supplies last!

And while you are there, don’t forget to check out the weekly deals!  I’ll be posting a card tomorrow using those Retro Fresh Designer Tags.  Smile

  • New 2014 Stampin’ Up! Catalog

    New 2014 Stampin’ Up! Catalog

You know I’m excited about the new catalog, especially after getting a chance to see it in person at the New Catalog Premiere for demonstrators last week!  Yes!  This is the catalog that launches June 2nd:

    2014 Stampin' Up catalog cover

I’ve shared a few details and photos on my Facebook page recently and now that I’ve gotten some preorder items, I’ll be sharing some new samples as well.  In the meantime, though, I’ve started having folks ask – when can I get a catalog?

I have my catalogs ordered and so, I thought I’d take a minute to share how YOU can get a copy of the catalog.  You can get yours in one of 3 different ways!

    1.  Be a Current Customer

If you have ordered $50 in Stampin’ Up product from me in the last 6 months, your catalog will be in the first batch I mail out this month!  I will be sending them out free of charge as a thank you for working with me.

    2.  Place an Order with Me in my Online Store

Haven’t ordered with me before?  Purchase $50 or more from me in May (or anytime after that really Smile) and I will mail you a catalog right away.  If your order is placed before May 15th, your catalog will be included in the first batch I mail out!  Shop now and don’t forget to check out the new Project Life products, Weekly Deals, the Retiring items, and the Clearance Rack!  Plus you’ll start earning punches on my Northwest Stamper Rewards punch card towards a free stamp set of your choice once you collect 10 punches!  (details here)

    3.  Fill Out My Catalog Request Form

Fill out the following form and I will send you a copy on a first come first serve basis  (so if I’m down to my last couple catalogs before I order a new box, they will go out to customers, then first come first serve to folks who have filled out this form).  I will start mailing out these catalogs the last week of May so you should get yours for when the new catalog goes live on June 2nd!

Fill out the Catalog Request Form Here

Sure, you can shop online and click through pages of product pictures – but isn’t it more fun to look at a physical catalog?  Curl up with your favorite blanket or comfy clothes and get inspired by some great products and project ideas!

  • Saying Goodbye to Oh Hello & the 2012-2014 In Colors

Saying Goodbye to Oh Hello & the 2012-2014 In Colors

I knew it was coming…. the 2012-2014 In Colors were destined to be retired at the end of May this year, but it always takes seeing the retirement list come out for me to suddenly have this burst of new found love for the colors!  So, as I was trying to decide what card to share with you today, I saw this swap from last year and knew it was a perfect way to send off the In Colors and the stamp I’m going to miss – Oh Hello!

I was one of those people who didn’t love Summer Starfruit as a color at first.  But doesn’t it look nice when you pair it with other colors?  From the designer series paper (which I need to use more of in general!) to the ribbon…. they are nice touches without it being too overwhelming.

So that is a tip for you!  If you have a color that you don’t love as a big piece of cardstock or ink… mix it up with some other strong colors and add it to your project in pieces, especially pieces that are patterned!  It helps break it up and make it a great accent piece!

Yes, pretty much everything about this card is retiring – from the In Color Dahlias (that cute resin flower in the corner!), to the cardstock, markers to color the stamps, designer paper, ribbon, and the stamp!  While the In Color cardstock is sold out, everything else is still available for now!

  • It’s Time for the 2014 Retirement List Contest!

It’s Time for the 2014 Retirement List Contest!

Are You Up for a Guessing Game?

I can’t believe it is that time already, but Monday (April 21st) the Retirement List for the 2013-2014 Annual Catalog will be released!  I’ll be posting the list monday morning of all the stamps and accessories that will be discontinuing – and in a first, BOTH stamps & accessories will be while supplies last.  (In the past, stamps were always guaranteed until the end of the catalog period)

So, to keep us entertained while we wait for the list to come out –
I’m running a Stampin’ Up! Retirement List prediction game!

    2014 retirement list promotion

All you have to do is pick 10 stamps or stamp sets that are in the 2013-2014 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog and send your predictions to me in an email.  Whoever gets the most right, wins a prize from me!

    What are you playing for?
Win $25 to spend on your favorites from the Retirement List!
Guess all 10 correctly and win $30 off your order instead!

    How to Play
    1. Grab your copy of the 2013-2014 Annual Catalog and start flipping, or check out the catalog online here.
    2. Write down the 10 stamp sets or single stamps that are in the catalog that you think will be retired this year (not including hostess sets)
    3. Email me your list of predictions to jennifer@nwstamper.com by April 20th at 3pm PST
    4. Watch on April 21st for the Retirement List to be released!

If you are on my mailing list – I will email out the full list of everything that is retiring on the 21st and announce a winner for this game (I’ll also be posting this information here on the blog too, but watch for a special bonus in my newsletter Winking smile).

In the event of a tie, I will name the winner based on the earliest timestamp on the emails I receive.

    A few rules:

    • Anyone may send me their predictions but only non-demonstrators can win my prize.  If you are currently a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, enjoy the demo community chatter and sneak peeks from Stampin’ Success and other demo events. :)
    • If the retirement list leaks out early, I reserve the right to shut down the contest part of the game early.

So, get flippin and enjoy the guessing game of what will stay and what will go!  I can’t wait to see what everyone predicts!

  • A Totally Different Style with the New Sweetie Pie Stamps

A Totally Different Style with the New Sweetie Pie Stamps

So, each month Stampin’ Up releases a new photopolymer stamp set and this month was a fun change of pace!  This was actually designed by a writer/editor at Stampin’ Up who decided to draw some designs and submit them.  I’ll admit I wasn’t sure about the style at first but I think it is a fun and fresh variation on what we see in a lot of stamps today!  Here are a couple of the samples using the new Sweetie Pie stamp set.

The first stamp set is lots of fun different girls faces (or boys with long hair!)

    Sweetie Pies

    Sweetie Pie Photopolymer Stamp Set

But then they came out with a coordinating Sweetie Pie Frames stamp set that you can use with the faces or on its own for some interesting flourishes.

    Sweetie Pie frames

    Sweetie Pie Frames Stamp Set

I was still trying to figure out how I would use the set when I saw this sample created by Lydia Fielder at Understand BlueI LOVE it and thought it was a brilliant idea so I wanted to share it as inspiration as well. Smile

Also, I just have to say her use of markers makes me itch for the release of the Stampin’ Up! Blendabilities markers!!  Guess I just try to practice right now with my blender pens.

So what do you think?  Love the new set and style or not your thing?

    This week’s weekly deals

Also, I’m a bit delayed in getting this posted, but wanted to make sure everyone had a chance to check out the new weekly deals this week.  Lots of fun stuff for Big Shot/Cuttlebug lovers!
