The Holiday Catalog is Here! Try it all with a Product Sampler

So, the 2018 Stampin’ Up Holiday Catalog launched yesterday and I’m still trying to whittle my wishlist down since there is still so much from the catalog I really want to play with and try!  🙂  I love how this catalog does a great job at having a variety of styles and themes.  So you have rustic, classic, cutesy, vintage, trendy… personally, I love some of the new cute stamps and papers.  But at the same time, I love some of the more traditional and elegant suites too.

This is also why I love offering Product Samplers, so you don’t feel like you have to buy the entire catalog to get a chance to try out and play with all the new amazing papers and embellishments in the new catalog!  Its a discounted grab bag and I have more info at the bottom of this post or on the Holiday Catalog Product Sampler page.

In the meantime, if you haven’t seen it yet, check out the Holiday Catalog:

    Specials this Month!

There are two things happening this month at the same time as the Holiday Catalog release… well, kind of three, but still….. 🙂

    Dashing Along Designer Paper Promotion

Stampin’ Up is releasing a designer paper pack only for the month of September.  It is a free gift with any party or personal order that totals $250 or more.  So, if you and a few of your friends are thinking of ordering some items from the Holiday Catalog, let me know and I can get you a host code and you can combine your orders into one party and not only get extra free host credits, but you can get this pack of paper and share it!  You get 4 sheets each of these 3 double sided designer in 12×12.

    Use those Bonus Days coupons

If you earned a Bonus Day coupon in August, now is the time to use them!  You have from Sept 1-30th to use those coupons and get extra goodies with your order.  You just need to find your bonus days coupon email and then use the long number/letter voucher code at checkout to get $5 in credit per code.

If you have multiple, you can use them all at once or across multiple orders.  There is so much cute stuff in the new Holiday Catalog, that it won’t be hard to find something (or many somethings) to use your coupon on!

Need Help Deciding What to Get?  Try a Product Sampler!

It never fails, a new catalog comes out and I love so many different papers, ribbons, and embellishments but I know it isn’t economical to purchase ALL the papers or ALL the embellishments, and it is even harder to use up all those papers and embellishments when you have all full packs.  So, I started offering Product Samplers.  This is a way to try out a little of all the new goodies in small amounts so you can see which items you love and need more; and which you may want to make that one card you saw online but wouldn’t use a full pack.

    2018 Holiday Catalog Product Sampler

This catalog I’m offering Paper only, Ribbon & Embellishments only, or the I WANT IT ALL bundle that comes with a free gift.  I have photos and a list of all the items you will get in your sampler packs.  I package them so you can use them all completely in projects at home.

I’d love to hear, what are you most excited to see in person?  Leave me a comment and let me know!  Plus maybe I can use that to help pick which projects to showcase next on the blog! 🙂

  • Clean & Simple Elegant Thank You card with Suite Seasons

So, last month, I ran a big event for Pacific Northwest Stampin’ Up demonstrators.  It wasn’t limited to my team, but anyone who wanted to come connect, share, and learn.  As part of the event, I created 4 make & take projects for them to get to play with new goodies from the 2016 Holiday Catalog.  So, I thought I’d share one of those projects with you today!  Because really, we all need a card idea that is quick to make when our Mojo just isn’t feeling it… that we know will turn out fabulous every time!  Give this layout a try –

I loved this sentiment from the Suite Seasons stamp set, and love the little details art touch below the sentiment.  It was just perfect for coloring in with my markers.  Again, I wanted that handmade touch without an hour of color on each card.  Sometimes, the coloring is super relaxing… sometimes, I just want to be done with my card and still love how it looks. Smile
TIP –  When coloring in small spaces like this, even if you *can* use the brush tip of your marker, start with the pen tip of the marker instead.  The pen tip colors just a little bit lighter than the brush tip because less ink is coming out on the paper at one time.  So, in an image like this, you want it to be a little bit lighter so you can see the line art accents instead of it all getting covered up by dark ink.

Since the sentiment was so pretty, I wanted the leave the rest of the card simple to let the words and the coloring stand out.  So, I grab the FABULOUS Copper Foil paper and used it as a large mat for my center.  Now, I was worried that the Very Vanilla cardstock I used had too stark of an edge, but turns out sponging some Delightful Dijon ink around the edges with a sponge fixes that problem right up!

Then just add a strip of the Delightful Dijon ribbon from the 3/8” Ribbon Trio Pack from the Holiday Catalog (it includes Rich Razzleberry, Delightful Dijon, and Mint Macaron ribbons) where the border of the Rich Razzleberry cardstock ends on the cardbase and you have a sweet and elegant card that you can pull together in a pinch!

I also wanted to share that Product Samplers are back by popular demand!  Instead of feeling like you have to choose which paper or accessory you want to get from the Holiday Catalog, why not try them all?!

    Holiday Catalog Sampler image

I give you at least 1 yard of all the ribbons and twines in the Holiday Catalog, some of all the accessories, and 6×6 sheets of the designer papers (one of each pattern).  So you have enough to create that project you saw on Pinterest that you love so much, without having to buy full packs of everything!

Simply Sent Christmas Cards are great, but I LOVE the new Envelope Liners Framelits!!!  Everyone who came to my Convention Roundup got to try them out and loved the great finishing effect they had on their cards.

Plus there is the new Simply Created Table Setting Kit which, again I didn’t think much of, but at convention, they showed it used as a mini-scrapbook album which I thought was super clever!
