  • Getting Ready for a Card Bonanza!

I stayed up last night to start sorting out my card kits for my upcoming Card Bonanza this weekend.  On Saturday, I’m hosting the event at my house and it is an All-You-Can-Stamp crafting event!

I was shocked to discover that I have over 130 card kits ready to go based on over 50 card designs!  See, this event is what I do to use up all my extra card kits left over from my technique nights, card classes, swaps, and events.  I deeply discount the kits and invite everyone over to make as many cards as they want.

    Here is the scoop:

    • Come and stamp for only $1.50/card
    • Come and stamp as many cards as you want for $10  (you just have to let me know when you get started)
    • Pick up a premade card with envelope from my big stash for only $2

    Can’t attend in person?

    • Get a set of 5 card kits for $11 mailed to you to make at home
(note – due to Stampin’ Up policy, kits will not include stamped images, but they will include all paper and accessories precut and portioned)

Either way, that is WAY LESS than Hallmark for some really fun and cute cards!

Here is a small sample of some of the cards available to make:

    Fun, right?!

So, check your calendar and if you are free this Saturday (2/22) between 1pm- 5pm, let me know and plan on coming over for this fun event!  RSVP here

Can’t attend in person but would love some kits?  Email me at jennifer@nwstamper.com or order here and I’ll get you hooked up with some cute card kits!

Card Kit Grab Bag – 5 card kits shipped w/in the US for ONLY $11!

Now I’m off to finish pulling all the supplies needed for all the different cards – that is going to take me a while! But it will be fun and I can’t wait to see everyone creating on Saturday.

  • 25 Stamps for 25% off, Weekly Deals, and a Giveaway!

You’ve probably been hearing about how this year is Stampin’ Up!’s 25th anniversary… which is pretty impressive when you think about it.  Honestly, I can’t even imagine the processes that it would have taken when this started without internet, email, and youtube to share ideas, techniques, place orders, and even to just hear about new specials!  Kind of makes me wonder what it will be like in another 25 years when we consider how we are living now to be quaint. Winking smile

Anyway, October 25th is the actual anniversary date and so this week they are doing an extra promotion this week and I’m celebrating along with them, so make sure you check out my giveaway too!

Order any of the discounted stamps below using the hostess code – R2XQXU3G or emailing me your order to be entered to win $25 in hostess benefits!  Score!

  • Faux Tiling Card for Club

Each month I have a group of ladies who get together for a Stamp Club.  We make a couple projects each month and this month I thought Pilar (the hostess) would enjoy learning about the Faux Tiling technique.  So, I promised her to have one of the cards use this technique, and this is what I came up with for her –

As I was working on it, I wasn’t sure how this was going to turn out but in the end I really like it!  Its pretty easy to do too.

If you haven’t done Faux Tiling, the basics are as follows:

    • Start with your white piece of paper
    • Pull out your diagonal score plate for your Simply Scored (or other score board) and place the paper in the upper left corner.
    • For this card, I started scoring at 1/2”, 1-1/2”, and so on at 1” intervals.  Then I flipped the paper and used the same score measurements to complete my grid lines
    • Stamp a fairly dense or solid image randomly over the scored paper (the score lines should be valleys, so not poking up out of your paper.)
** make sure you aren’t stamping very hard as you want the stamped image to not go into the scored lines
    • Embellish the rest of your card as desired and you are done!

I plan to put together a video on this so for those of you who are more visual, check back or watch my YouTube channel for updates. Smile

Card Supplies Used (all Stampin’ Up!):

    Stamps: Happy Day
    Ink: Early Espresso, Crushed Curry
Paper:  Whisper White, Early Espresso, Crushed Curry
Accessories: Simply Scored Board, Simply Scored Diagonal Plate, Candy Dots Regals

Hopefully they will enjoy making this card at club on Thursday!

  • A Blast From the Past (plus Free Stamps too)

Yay! It’s the weekend and this weekend is a fun one for our family as we have relatives from Kansas out to visit for the first time since Caitlin was born. 🙂

Today we are taking the kids (and everyone else) on a ferry ride and heading to Bainbridge Island for a while.  I think Nicholas will love being on the boat and hopefully it will be more checking out the boats and scenery outside and less running around like a crazy person inside the ferry… but I could be dreaming!

Anyway, I finally got all of my retired items updated on my Stamps+ For Sale page and thought I would put together a special BOGO style sale for this next week in the hopes of clearing out the shelf space and giving everyone a great deal in the process!

Check out my Retired Items page for how to get your favs FREE!

In the meantime, I thought I would pull up some fun “blast from the past” cards that use some if the items I have listed.  Hope you enjoy!

  • Another Fresh Vintage Faux Tiled Card

As I’ve been cleaning up my craft room and trying to clear out scraps and the little hodge-podge of items I’ve stamped or cut for a project and then later decided I didn’t want to us them; and in the process I came across more of my Faux Tiling samples.

    faux tiled thank you card

I had scored and stamped the Whisper White paper when I was trying to decide on a design for a class a couple months ago and though I decided to go with the diagonally scored version, I couldn’t let this go to waste!  Just had to add a sentiment from the Just Believe stamp set, a couple punches (word window and modern label), and some scrap Basic Black 1/8” Taffeta ribbon.

I can’t decide which version I like better, todays card or the original version.  What do you think?  Diagonal scoring or square with the pretty sentiment?

  • Faux Tiling with Fresh Vintage

I’ve been wanting to try out Faux Tiling for a while and thought the big flower image from the Fresh Vintage stamp set was perfect for this look!

To make the Faux Tiling look on your cards, I grabbed my Simply Scored score board and the matching Diagonal score plate to get the grid lines.  For the sample above, I started by having my paper positioned long side along the top of the score board (so with one edge stretching from 0 to 4.5”) and started doing a diagonal score every 1”.  Then, you just rotate your paper to finish out the grid lines so that they go both ways to make your diamond shapes.

tip: For the faux tile look, do your score lines first and then stamp on your paper.  If you don’t press your stamp down too hard, this will keep the ink off the grooves giving you those nice white lines in your image, reinforcing the tile look.

I kept it simple with my colors and just added some sponging to the white strip and punched circle.  Finally, it may be hard to tell in the picture but I added a rhinestone to the center of the flower for a little bit of sparkle. 🙂

Did you want this stamp set? Only 3 days left to get it!

I’ve had a few people ask me about buying this stamp set and so I wanted to make sure everyone realized that this is a promotional stamp set that is only available to be earned during Sale-a-Bration.  So, while you can’t buy it, you can order $50 of whatever you’d like from any of the catalogs and get it for FREE.  You just have to place your order before the evening of March 31st; after that, it will be no longer available.
