Stampin’ Up OnStage Local Recap–November 2016

2016-11-04 14.51.35I’m back after an amazingly inspiring and refreshing weekend up to Vancouver, BC Canada for the November OnStage Local event by Stampin’ Up!  This is the new event that replaces the traditional convention and happens every 6 months around the world.  This time, the closest location was up in Canada for the one day regional style event; and since that is only a few hours away, I just had to go!  I love these events because not only is it a chance to get my creative batteries recharged, but I always get to meet wonderful new people and reconnect with friends I don’t get to see very often because of distance.  And getting free stuff and a copy of the upcoming Spring (Occasions) catalog doesn’t hurt either! Winking smile

So, now that I’m back, I thought I’d share a little bit from the event – and don’t worry there are lots of sneak peeks to come during the upcoming weeks!  And if you’ve been considering signing up as a demonstration – you know you can see the Occasions and Sale-a-Bration catalogs NOW on the demonstrator website, right?  Just saying, you wouldn’t even have to wait to see all the peeks.  Plus I’ve posted every picture I took at the event to my team page to help them get inspired and planning for the new year.  So, if you are on the fence, consider hopping off and joining my Fun n’ Crafty Stampers!

OnStage (November) 2016 – Celebrating You

Each event we get a back and this was the cutest one yet since they started the OnStage events!  I LOVE the Hot Air Balloon motif (a sneak peek of things to come!) and the colors were oh so cute.

    2016-11-04 16.10.30

The theme was Celebrating You because this was the time of year where they did recognition for achievements by demonstrators for the 2015-2016 SU year.  So, things like folks who recruited and had the team members successfully get started with their demonstratorship, folks who had a number of title promotions in their team, yearly sales, personal promotions, anniversaries with SU, etc.  One piece of recognition was a nice sit down dinner and training on Friday night (before the event on Saturday) for anyone with the title Silver Elite or above.

    2016-11-04 19.26.52

Thanks to my awesome team, I was able to attend and really felt spoiled! Plus we got a super cute bag as a gift to boot –

    2016-11-04 19.32.29

Then it was back to the hotel room to hang out with the gals from the Fun n’ Crafty Stampers group for a while before heading to bed… and by heading to bed, I mean staying up super late because I hadn’t finished gifties for everyone yet and I wanted to have something special for them the next day when the event kicked off!  I think they turned out super cute and the ladies seemed to like them too.  Each one had a card with a personal note inside, a pen decorated with Candy Cane Lane paper, and some chocolate.

    2016-11-05 02.40.15

Then it was time to finally get some rest before getting up WAAAY too early to get in the room and get ready for the presentations.  Isn’t the notebook they gave us super cute?!?

    2016-11-05 07.55.20

We started off with a video presentation from Sara Douglass with such a great message that wasn’t about how we can sell more Stampin’ Up product or build our team… but instead, about how we can become better people and have happier lives by focusing on what makes us unique and great and finding our success in being the best we can be.  I always come away from these events feeling like the company really cares about us as people, not as selling robots.  <3 this company!

    2016-11-05 08.46.19

Of course, there was the catalog reveal, and lots of stamping presentations and tips for the new dies, stamps, accessories, and more from the upcoming Occasions Catalog.  Eeek!!!!  Can’t wait to do my preorder on December 1st!  But I was lucky enough to be asked to be a display board stamper for the event as well, which meant I got my hands on some new product in advance and start working on a bunch of ideas with it.  We put them up the night before and it was so fun to watch everyone check them out.  2016-11-05 10.06.51

I also had to laugh because one of my projects that I wasn’t sure if I should even put it up on the boards turned out to be one of the favorites!

    2016-11-04 16.08.34

And I’ll give you one more sneak peek today and tell you this is one of my FAVORITE suites coming out in the new catalog.  Those are STAMPS!  and dies of course, and those sequins…squee!  I’m so ready to order them now, but I guess waiting until December 1st will have to do.

    IMG_3848

I was honored to get to walk across the stage for recognition three times – for recruiting, for team title promotions, and earning Thailand.  The crazy thing though, was learning that those were only achieved by a small percent of the almost 50,000 demonstrators!  See those numbers, that is the number of demonstrators ACROSS THE WORLD who achieved that.  Makes me even more appreciative of my tribe – my friends, family, customers, and Fun n’ Crafty Stampers team!

    OnStage Local Swapping!

And of course, while you are at events like this, you have to swap!  It is always incredible to see what others come up with.  Especially with stamp sets or accessories that you didn’t think you liked all that much or had no idea what to do with.  I’ll be sharing more of the swap cards this week, but thought I would share a few of my favorites with you today –

Like this awesome card that mixes and matches from a few different stamp sets and die sets.  I love how products you don’t think of as being at all related can go together so fabulously.

Or talk about an amazingly elegant Christmas card that is so simple to pull together!  You just need some glimmer paper, basic cardstock, and one framelit set!

And this card was just so adorable I couldn’t get over it!  Wouldn’t this make such a perfect birthday card for that sweet girl in your life?  I have often passed this cupcake set by, but it looks so fabulous in the Sweet Sugarplum colors!

Well, I hope this gave you some fun ideas to try and gave you a little bit of a glimpse into the new OnStage events.  They are wonderful to attend and always exciting.  The next OnStage events are coming up in April and while I haven’t decided which location I may be attending, I know I have folks from my group planning on going to at least a couple of them.  So if you would like to join us – let me know!

Plus, if you join my Fun n’ Crafty Stampers team now, you’ll still be eligible to attend in April!  Since you have until then to meet your first minimum sales goal to stay active.  Sweet!

  • Another Northwest Crafty Escape Weekend is in the Books!

So, you see… back in October of last year, I thought it was a BRILLIANT idea to run my next Northwest Crafty Escape Weekend (the twice-a-year retreats I hold in Bellevue, WA) in April, the weekend IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING the Stampin’ Up OnStage event in Salt Lake City.  It will be fun, I said!  I’ll have lots of new displays and samples, I said.  I’ll have the scoop to share on the upcoming annual catalog…

and all of those things were true. Smile  And we had a TON of fun!

But I also neglected to think of how little sleep I get when I’m at OnStage… plus how little sleep I get when I’m at the retreat weekends.  And so, let me just say, back to back amazing crafting weekends are fun, but not nearly enough sleep is involved. Smile  But in the end, it was totally worth it and it has been great (though the fall retreat will be a bit more spaced out from OnStage than this time!)  So, I thought I’d share some of the photos from the event so you can see what I’ve been up to!

NW Crafty Escape Weekend spring 2016

So the weekends always start with me clearing out much of my craft room so I can take all my tools with me for people to use

    2016-04-24 16.48.02

And then I cart everything over to the hotel we run the Crafty Escape Weekend at!  This time was great because our group size grew enough that we needed 2 banquet rooms, which made it fun having more space and room to craft, spread out, and goof off!

We had displays, a crop store, a swap my stuff table (which was seeing some amazing items being gifted on that table this weekend!), and of course, everyone got their own large space.

    2016-04-22 19.40.11

    2016-04-22 19.40.21

And I think for all of about 3 hours total of the event, I even had my table clean so I could craft on it. Smile

    2016-04-23 00.04.30

It was like my mobile command center for all things retreat plus some personal crafting at the end of each day.

I always start out the weekend with a goodie bag full of fun crafty stuff plus a make & take packet with details for projects they can make with the items in their goodie bag.  In this case, I designed 6 cards for them to create using their goodie bag and the tools over on the tools buffet.2016-04-22 18.43.01

I love how the name placecards and other elements really make the tables cheery each time!  This was my table with my completed Enjoy the Little Things project kit all done and set up.  Isn’t it cute!?

    2016-04-23 09.35.12

Oh, and you see the water bottles that were decorated with some designer paper and the Flower Fair stamped flowers?  Check out what one of the gals at the retreat did with hers!

    2016-04-23 13.27.06

She took it off the water bottle and then picked off some of the extra flowers from her namecard and made them into cute cards!  I LOVE it!

We had crafty challenges, like this one to use at least 3 products from the goodie bag in one project

    2016-04-23 18.23.10-1

I ran some classes (3 total over the course of the weekend)

    2016-04-23 10.51.01

    Ate some yummy food

    2016-04-23 11.56.35

And folks got a lot of crafting done… and not just paper crafts!

    2016-04-23 13.29.26

I also love our Pajama Party we run on Saturday night.

    2016-04-23 22.26.03

I usually give out challenges for the evening and my favorite was to show us your Crafty Super Hero costume.  I think this was Lady Crafts a Lot and Sir Inky Fingers… or I may have the names a little wrong, but I LOVED the creative costumes!

    2016-04-23 20.12.55

    Professor Paper

    IMG_1574

And the super villian – OOPS, who knocks their drink all over your almost completed project Smile

    IMG_1571

And we learned what happens when you try to run an embossing folder through the big shot with the magnetic platform (PSA – either your BigShot cutting plate or your embossing folder will not make it out alive!)

    2016-04-24 13.28.46

But I still managed to get some creating done while I was there, which if you know how much I talk at retreats, you know that is an impressive feat!

    2016-04-24 11.43.16

So, all in all, another fun weekend full of friends, crafts, and lots of laughs!

Next up… Northwest Crafty Escape Weekend – Fall Fun!
    September 2016

I’m trying to finalize the dates of our next Northwest Crafty Escape Weekend… it should be Sept 16-18, but I’ll be able to confirm that by the end of the week.  Consider joining us next time and be a part of the fun!

  • Last Day of OnStage & the Retreat to Go!

After an amazing time in Salt Lake City for OnStage 2016, I flew home the evening of Saturday and then spent Sunday with my family and letting all that I saw and learned percolating in my mind.  And so today, it is back in the saddle and getting ready for my Northwest Crafty Escape Weekend and starting to put into action all that I learned.

The big news though is that – the Annual Catalog and Occasions Catalog retirement list are going to be announced today at 1pm MST!  Once it goes live, items on the list (except likely some stamps) will be while supplies last.  I’m expecting some of the retiring In Color reinkers are going to be sold out by late afternoon.   So, the sooner you can check it out the better.  They haven’t posted it for demonstrators yet either, so I don’t know for sure everything that is going to be on the list or discounted.

    Annual15_Cover retirement list

To make sure you see the news you can either:

    1. Get it in email by making sure you are on my newsletter email list – I’ll be sending the link out as soon as it posts to that list!  Make sure you are signed up here.
      ~or~
    2. Visit the Online Store at 1pm MST – the retiring items will be posted in their own section in the online store at around 1pm today, so refresh the page and you can start shopping!
      ~or~
    3. Stop back by this blog after 1pm – After I get the retiring list out to the newsletter list, I’ll get it posted back up on here.  So you can stop back by this afternoon to check it out here.

Don’t forget, this is also your last chance at the discounts on the weekly deals as well!

Also, I know I have some folks who have been asking about my Retreat to Go.  I had planned to finalize pricing for this while I was at OnStage.  Silly me, I thought it would be no problem to stay up late at night and get it all sorted out.  Smile  Well, um… yeah… I forgot how non-stop everything is and how little sleep I already get when I’m away at these events.  So, I had to finish it up when I got back from the trip.

    But registration is open NOW!

NW Crafty Escape Weekend retreat in a box

    OnStage 2016 – Day 3

We started the day being able to finish up make & take classes and get to see AND MAKE part of the May Paper Pumpkin kit!  That was really cool and I’m looking forward to the kit now too.

    2016-04-16 08.43.25

Then it was time for a few more pictures with friends from around the event

    • IMG_2797
    • And with that, OnStage Live was done.  It was an amazing event and I LOVED seeing all the new stuff coming out soon.  It is going to be an awesome catalog this summer!
    • The rest of the group headed to lunch and I headed back to the Product Spotlight for some lunch before CentreStage Leadership – A leaders training session. We had some spaces to take notes and a LOT of presentations to get our brains thinking about how we can help support our teams and build better communities.

    • 2016-04-16 15.41.33
    • Then I flew home late that night so I could be home the next day to spend time with my family.  Caitlin loved going through all the swaps and seeing all the cute cards.

  • Stampin’ Up OnStage 2016–Day 2

    Stampin’ Up OnStage 2016–Day 2

Alright, I was supposed to be asleep an hour ago but I thought I would upload a few more pictures (ok probably more than a few) for those of you playing along at home. Smile  Today was the second day of OnStage Live and it was GREAT!!  We have a wonderful mix of corporate presentations, demonstrator presentations, chances to see LOTS of displays, project ideas, and actually get our hands on tons of the new stuff and STAMP!  Plus I got to spend a bit more time with my Fun n’ Crafty Stamper gals who were here with me.  It’s been so whirlwind I am so grateful for our evenings when we hang out in my hotel room and chit chat, discuss the catalog, business ideas, and just hang out and have fun.

So we started out bright and early… I was NOT bright eyed and busy tailed…but still excited to be there none the less!

    2016-04-15 08.41.24

We got to hear from Shelli and Sara and I loved the quotes Sara shared in her presentation!

    2016-04-15 09.11.40

After opening sessions, we got to go explore the Product Showcase… there were display boards, product up on display so you could see and touch it, make & takes, food, and fun photo ops.

    2016-04-15 11.11.51

    2016-04-15 11.31.46-1

I had to take my annual Andrea Withers selfie!  She is just the sweetest person you will find at the Home Office and I got to know her a few years back and just love working with her when I get to do Display Boards as well as seeing her at events.  Isn’t she just the cutest?!

    2016-04-15 11.39.50

But I had to spend lots of time checking out the new stuff and taking some classes.

    2016-04-15 11.50.51

I wish we could show you what we were working on… so here is the best I can do right now!

    2016-04-15 11.54.15

In the afternoon, we were back for more recognition marches – including anniversary marches.  Pamela Wu was eligible to walk across the stage for her 5 year anniversary but she chose to stay in her seat.  I think she is so wonderful I had to give her a shout out anyway!  Fun fact – Pamela is my longest term demo, having been with me for not quite 5 1/2 years!  My how time flies!

    2016-04-15 14.28.36

Then it was time for more presentations ranging from uplifting, funny, and just plain creatively inspiring.  Brandy shared a little bit about finding your own way and being true to who you are to find your success.

    IMG_2448

    IMG_2599

I also have to give a shout out to Sean Douglass for being so gracious to let me talk his ear off for a ton of time about the new catalog (what is awesome about it), products we would love to see, products we will dearly miss, and why.  He helps run product development and they were at the event to listen to demonstrators tell them about they they think of the products and what we need/want.  Though I’m not sure he expected to have someone as full of thoughts and opinions as myself! Open-mouthed smile

    IMG_2652

So, since I can’t share product pictures… here are some more people pictures.

I almost didn’t share this picture of me and Brandy just because I swear I was the most unphotogenic person today Smile but I am just so grateful to have connected with her and her amazing sweet and caring spirit.  So, I had to give her some love and take a moment to say thanks and that I can’t wait to cheer for her big successes to come!

    IMG_2661

And speaking of people to cheer about, I have to give a shout out to the gals with me here this week.  They are talented stampers, but more importantly great friends!  We all had the chance to go eat at Cheesecake Factory and have great discussions… but even better, we got CHEESECAKE!  Cheesecake party in my room!  No for real, we all got cheescake to go and took it back to the hotel and had a room party.

    IMG_2676

And they even humored me when I asked them to set aside their cheesecake and go back downstairs since we had not gotten a group photo with everyone together.  I told you, they are awesome! Smile

    IMG_2684

So, in the morning, we are back for the final day of OnStage.  I don’t know what to expect, but I know it will be awesome.  So, until then, I am going to get some sleep and be back soon with more!

Don’t forget, you can follow along throughout the day on my Northwest Stamper Facebook page as I post regularly during the day at OnStage.

    Until then….

  • Stampin’ Up OnStage 2016–Getting the Party Started!

Stampin’ Up OnStage 2016–Getting the Party Started!

Earlier this week was all about getting ready for OnStage and then Wednesday was travel and Thursday was the first day!  It has been BUSY!  But oh my goodness has it been a wonderful experience!  I can’t even believe where my journey with Stampin’ Up has taken me and I’m so grateful I stuck with it so that I can have amazing experiences like I am this week!

    2016-04-13 15.44.42

I know many of you aren’t able to join us here in Salt Lake City, so I thought I would share a little about the adventures happening here so you can be here with us in spirit… we can always use more crafty friends!

Over the years, I have built a team of amazing folks that we now call the Fun n’ Crafty Stampers.  There are folks from all across the US from the east coast all the way to Hawaii and many states in between.  So, when OnStage (the new version of Convention) is in Salt Lake City, it is a great opportunity for some of us to travel to reconnect in person, get inspired, try new things, and of course, STAMP!  This year, it is in Utah from April 14-16 and we had 7 of us from the team meeting up here

IMG_0121So, 6 of us arrived on Wednesday and after meeting up, 5 of us headed south to Riverton for the annual pilgrimage to the Stampin’ Up home office.

     2016-04-13 15.35.37

It is always fun to get to meet and chat with the staff and see what has changed.  This time, there were a few new displays in the Legacy Room museum

    2016-04-13 15.42.25

    2016-04-13 15.42.05

And we even got to tour the upstairs floor and see Shelli and Rich’s offices!

    2016-04-13 16.00.54

    2016-04-13 16.01.16

Then it was time for a bit of shopping… driving back in HORRIBLE rain… (sorry guys, didn’t realize the Seattle rain tagged along with us!) and then raced back to the hotel for a fun night of Shoebox Swapping with Dawn Olchefske and Kelly Acheson’s teams.  Better believe some of the cards we made will be showing up in my upcoming classes!

    2016-04-13 20.37.13

Then it was back to the room to finish up card swaps and team gifties!  These are the general swap cards I made for this year and am trading around the convention center.

    OnStage 2016 – Day 1

Due to the schedule, we pretty much had the morning to kill, but as a Display Stamper this year, I ended up heading over to start putting up my projects….and can I just say, they picked some AMAZING demonstrators to work on the display boards because they all look fantastic!

    2016-04-14 11.52.32

Unfortunately, I can’ post pictures from that until Monday (due to SU’s spoiler alert” policy.  But I can share photos of us waiting to get our bags and to go in and be part of the party! Notice any pretty colors you like from the banners?  That may or may not be a sneak peek of the new In Colors. Winking smile

    IMG_2259

And of course there was swapping…. I’m very serious about my swapping….

    IMG_0151

    seriously CHEESY!  Open-mouthed smile

    2016-04-14 12.07.37-1

And then it was time for Opening Session!  Hopefully I didn’t hurt the ears of my Mom and Nicole next to me from my screaming.  Let me just say, I freaked out more than once as they gave us the new catalog and I got to see new things that are coming out!  So glad I am a demonstrator and have the demo discount because my wishlist is LOOOOONG!

    IMG_2281

I know!  I wish I could show you pictures or tell you more details about what I saw in that new catalog and on the presentations but we have a gag order until Monday afternoon.  But I can say, you won’t be disappointed!

CenterStage Live – Evening Dinner and Entertainment

Stampin’ Up hosted a lovely incentive dinner that first night to celebrate and thank folks of Silver Elite and above titles – which includes me!  So they bussed us to a nearby swanky hotel where we socialized and had some mocktails.
Isn’t Sheri adorable?  She is a lovely friend from Canada who I always love to see at SU events.

Side note, this is one of the coolest parts of attending the SU events, you end up making friends in random places that you connect with for life!  I met Sheri randomly during one of the Make & Take sessions at Convention a couple years ago.  She had been recognized as a Rising Star (one of the demonstrators who had a stellar first years as a demonstrator)  and so I had congratulated her and we hit it off talking.  Just like I met Brandy Cox when we both went to Founder’s Circle for the first time and we had a sweet connection from that.  Now I’m so blessed to see them at events and get to reconnect and share laughs and hugs.  The women you meet in this business really are just some of the most amazing people!  It really does make my heart full!  And I’m so grateful to be able to cheer them on and get to celebrate their successes!

2016-04-14 22.16.39Anyway, back to CenterStage, enough of my sappy moment. Smile  We ad a fabulous 4 course meal.

    2016-04-14 19.24.06

They even had dueling pianos while we ate which was way more fun than I expected!  I’ve never seen a dueling piano show and it hilarious!

    2016-04-14 20.39.40

So, at the end of the day, iit was an awesome time to meet and/or connect with folks who share this awesome journey with me.  We had a few fun gifts from the company and then it was off to bed to try to get some sleep before we start bright and early in the morning!

    IMG_2420

Wish you could have been here with me!  Hopefully next time you can join the Fun n’ Crafty Stampers at one of the events in the US!

Ok, but before I get to the “Coming Soon” Stuff, I want to quickly mention the new things that are more “Now” and time sensitive in nature. Smile  I’m very sensitive that way… hee hee

Ok, back to the sneak peeks!

Like I mentioned before, OnStage is Stampin’ Up’s new event to replace Convention and Leadership.  I went into the weekend not really knowing what to expect.  They had been fairly hush hush about what exactly would be happening but they promised a great time and the chance to get the Occasions Catalog and Sale-a-Bration catalogs in our hot little hands first!  And you KNOW I’m a totally sucker for deals and for sneak peeks!  One thing they didn’t change though, was Stampin’ Up’s habit of starting event days EARLY!  Like, check in starting at 7:30 and festivities were on by 8:30!  And though I had stayed up until almost 1am on my sugar high from going out with my mom, Tanya, and Janet Wakeland to Voodoo Doughnuts…mmm so good…

    2015-11-14 07.34.072015-11-13 22.29.52

I was still able to get my butt out of bed (barely) and get over to the event location.

    2015-11-14 08.02.02

Thankfully, I had a few friends who got there extra early and were able to snag a table for our group.  It wasn’t too full… the venue had a lot of space, but it was still 400 crazy stampers eager to find a seat and start seeing what was new and coming soon!

    IMG_1347IMG_1348

See those tables in the front of that bottom picture?  That was ROWS of Big Shot machines!  So much amazing stuff we got to try that goes with the Big Shot!  If you don’t have one now, make sure to put one on your Christmas list!  And then give your family my email (jennifer@nwstamper.com) to make sure you get it and all the perfect complimentary pieces in time for gift giving. Winking smile

    2015-11-14 08.38.58

It was fun to have Greg Pitt be our MC.  Though his official title is Director of Distribution Services (getting our goodies from the warehouse to a box to us!) as soon as he started talking I recognized his voice – he is the voice of Stampin’ Up convention!  Like the “please welcome to the stage…” guy.  So, that was fun and he had a good humor too!

    IMG_1285

We started out with a video from the OnStage Live event in Brussels where we heard about the company stats and goals for the next year… and then on to the good stuff!  Stamping presentations and the Occasions Catalog reveal!  Lets just say we were super duper swooper excited to get our catalogs and see the new stuff!

    2015-11-14 11.12.26

And since that is a terrible picture if you are trying to see the cover of the catalog.  Here is an only slightly better picture. Smile  Really, I was trying for you, but it was dark out when I realized the first picture was blurry!

2016 Stampin Up occasions catalog cover

    SPOILER ALERT!

Ok, if you don’t want to see anything new that is coming up… look no further!  I don’t know who you are… I could not have your restraint Smile But if that is you, come back tomorrow for more fun non-spoiler projects!

So, we started out with video stamping presentations… including one by the Stampin’ Up president Rich Jutkins.  Turns out he is funny AND can stamp!

    2015-11-14 09.46.20

Here is his card using a new hostess set from the Occasions catalog (which starts Jan 5th as an FYI)

IMG_1325Oh, and love how he did this tag

    IMG_1327

We have some cool new pop-out dies for the inside of your cards:

    2015-11-14 09.12.40

    IMG_1382

And just so many great stamp/die or stamp/punch combinations.  Seriously people, watch for those bundles because there is lots of great stuff and lots of saving to be doing.  Didn’t I tell you earlier I’m a sucker for a deal? Winking smile

It was such an exciting morning filled with stamping, prize patrols, and sweets… I had one more voodoo doughnut with me for the drive home, but I just couldn’t wait and had to keep the adrenaline and sugar high going!  FYI – the Grape Ape donut and new stamps are an excellent combination!2015-11-14 10.20.39

So I know you are here for the sneak peeks, so here are a TON for you!

IMG_1328IMG_1331Isn’t it so cute!  That card was a combination of Sale-a-Bration stamp set and cut Honeycomb embellishments in the Occasions catalog.  I can’t believe I forgot to take a picture of my FAVORITE image from the Sale-a-Bration set, a cute chick!  It was the very top Sale-a-Bration wishlist item for me!

And speaking of Sale-a-bration, how about another card idea using new papers and dies from the Occasions catalog with a coordination stamp set from the Sale-a-bration catalog:

Fun fact, the stamp set that coordnates with the flower die above, actually ALSO coordinates with the Designer Paper!  Look, you can stamp added details onto you paper!  Compare the left and right sheet.

    IMG_1345

New stamp set with matching punch

    New ribbon

    New project kits

    New sunburst die

    New stamps

Another new die and BLUSHING BRIDE GLIMMER PAPER!  Swoon!

    More new goodies

Yes!  These are stamped images using a 3 step stamping set like the past Lotus Blossom!

    Dies you HAVE TO HAVE

    And lots more

In the end, everyone won a prize patrol, and I was so happy that Stacey (on the left) won the stamp set she wanted most of all from the catalog!  How perfect was that!

    2015-11-14 16.10.48-1

I was so grateful to have a number of my Fun n’ Crafty Stampers with me to stamp with, debate, discuss, and share the experience.  Plus my many new and long time stamping friends from across the region.

  • Wrapping up the Stampin’ Up Convention! Highlights, Display Boards, and More!

It happens every year… the first night of a Stampin’ Up Convention or other event, I stay up late the first night socializing and then blogging/facebooking.  Then the second night, we are up late again… but more tired from the late night/early morning from the day before.  So I get a little less done.  Then by the last day… I’m just toast!  Smile  This year was worse than normal for me as my team had a blast staying up and having in-room “happy hour” as we chatted and some people had some wine.  But after coming home at midnight on Saturday and then spending time with the family before the hubby turned around for his turn to go on a business trip) I rested and am finally catching up on the last bit of sharing!

I wanted to give you the full experience, so WARNING! Lots of pictures ahead! Smile

    Stampin’ Up Convention 2015 – Day 2

As always there are a ton of demonstrators gathered for Convention, but I love getting a chance to meet and mingle with everyone!  By day 2, my crew had a plan in place for snagging seats for our group.  I just had to sneak away for a minute to snap a quick pick of some of the crowd eagerly awaiting the chance to get in for day 2!

    IMG_0481

I also love the chance to see and say hello to some of the amazing Stampin’ Up Home office staff who make these events and all the support for demonstrators so great throughout the year.  Like the lovely Miss Andrea Withers and the fabulous Bonnie Farley!

    2015-07-24 09.27.07

    2015-07-24 11.09.43

Plus they always play fun music while we are waiting for the session to start so you have to stand up and dance a little!  See, even Tanya, Nicole, and Carla were getting into it. Smile

    2015-07-24 11.11.34

There were awesome stamping demonstrations featuring new products like new Black Glimmer Paper, new stamps, and a new Pillow Box die!!

    2015-07-24 10.03.33

And new spiderweb doilies, framelits, papers, and even new fall wood accents!

    2015-07-24 10.07.49

    2015-07-24 12.21.43

Of course there was Prize Patrol!  Monica and I won the new Project Life stamp set coming in the Holiday Catalog.

    2015-07-24 18.28.11

Then on to a workshop demonstration and Make & Takes!2015-07-24 14.32.05

I totally meant to finish my projects… but I was chatting and getting way to excited about some of the new product I got to play with!

FINE TIP GLUE!!!!!  With a pin in the cap so that the tip doesn’t get sealed up!

    2015-07-24 14.48.41

And new Archival Ink in Basic Black and Basic Grey.

    2015-07-24 14.33.02

The new ink pad stamps like a dream!  They use the old linen pads and are a new formula but they are AWESOME!  I fell totally in love when I was using it on the make & take… so imagine my excitement when they ended up giving the out to everyone at convention!  Yay!!

    2015-07-24 19.35.36

As usual, there was lots of swapping

    2015-07-24 10.43.56

And as you wandered around the Gathering Place, you could see lots of the new products as samples or to just play with… such as these edgelits (there are 3 in the pack! Trees, sleigh, and cottages)

    2015-07-24 15.01.39

New embossing folder of birch trees

    2015-07-24 15.03.59

And window/fireplace scene stamp set and framelit bundles!  There are two bundles… one all about the fireplace

    IMG_0515

and one all about the window frame and scenery

    IMG_0517

Then it was time for more classes and stamping presentations

    2015-07-24 14.47.33

Let me just say this bird set is going to be HUGE this year!

    2015-07-24 19.17.37

    psst – new punch alert!!

    IMG_0500

    IMG_0555

psst – another new punch alert!

    IMG_0557

I even got to walk across the stage for earning the Grand Vacation – the Mediterranean Cruise – which was fun!

    IMG_0508

And in addition to spoiling us at the event with great places to relax and chat and share with other demonstrators, prizes, and inspiration… for everyone who earned an annual award or had reached a milestone anniversary with the company, we had a little relaxation space that not only had some treats and drinks, but they also gave us this reuseable trash bin filled with lots of goodies!  I didn’t have that stamp set yet either – so super bonus score!

    annual award goodie bag

Then we had the evening to ourselves so the crew headed to Olive Garden before heading back to the hotel for a dip in the Hot Tub and day 2 of “happy hour”.  I also got a chance to catch up with some other great friends, especially my great friend Sarah Naber

    2015-07-24 23.44.29

I went to bed “early” as it was only 1am… not too bad for me on an event night! Smile

    Stampin Up Convention Day 3

With the sun rising on Day 3, it was my last day in Salt Lake City.  The main convention event only went until lunch time, so there was a lot to get through in a little bit of time!

    2015-07-25 07.23.07

… I always love having this view from my room!  Its my happy place!…

I spent some time in the morning checking out the display boards… they were entirely filled with cards brought by other demonstrators this year and they were fantastic!  Like how stinkin’ adorable is this bird?

    IMG_0723

*** See all the display board cards in pictures on my Facebook Page here ***

    IMG_0725

Rich Judkins, the President of Stampin’ Up, came out and shared a great story on perspective and talked about how the company was doing both from a numbers perspective and from a morale perspective.  It was honest, and real… and great example of him sharing that the executive team really does hear how demonstrators are feeling, what we are concerned about, and CARES about us!  There is a lot of change this year and we all know it is tough, but they are trying to make things better for demonstrators and keep improving as they hear our feedback.  It was seriously great and reassuring to hear!

We had more stamping demonstrations… so more cute ideas!

    2015-07-25 13.36.31

and new product!  Must have this snowflake stamp set/punch bundle and those wood snowflakes!!

    2015-07-25 14.07.13

    and more cute stuff!

    2015-07-25 14.17.42

Double wide pillow box using the new pillow box thinlit!

    IMG_0743

And of course, more prize patrol!

    2015-07-25 13.39.32-1

Plus something for everyone!  Hand painted holiday paper for all of us… thanks, Stampin’ Up!

    2015-07-25 14.28.50

And with that, convention was over!  I had the opportunity to attend some additional leaders training in the afternoon.  I got to chat with Sara (seriously the most down to earth CEO there is!)

    2015-07-25 15.06.52

And for those of you who have seen Brian Pilling bring Diet Coke to the presenters on stage at events before… he does it in real life too!  Isn’t he sweet for taking care of everyone!

    IMG_0787

The training was a great way to review what I learned and think about how to make improvements to my business but also how to use it to help my team as well!  So much to get implementing for all my crew as the year goes on!

    2015-07-25 16.20.00

Fun Fact!  My Mom and I have attended every Convention together since I joined and 2 leaderships.  So this was our 7th Convention together… .how cool is that?!?

    2015-07-25 14.47.19-2

We celebrated the end of a great weekend with some Strawberry Shortcake before heading to the airport to say good-bye once again to Salt Lake City and back to our amazing, supportive families!

    2015-07-25 18.18.34

So, I hope you enjoyed my recap.  Wish you were there (unless you were there – in which case, glad to celebrate with you!)  I’m already looking forward to the new On Stage events coming up starting in November.  I’d love to have you go with me.  All you have to do is let me know you want to go, snag the great deal that is the starter kit so you can become a member of my Fun n’ Crafty Stampers and then register!  We have an awesome group and you will have a blast!

  • Thank You, Thank You!

Hey everyone!  Just popping in for a quick minute to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who has been visiting and supporting me. Smile  Yesterday was the last day of the Stampin’ Up fiscal year, which meant the last chance for me to earn points to earn an all-expense paid Mediterranean Cruise for me and my hubby!  It was a busy whirlwind day complete with a Fun Folds Technique class in the evening!  I also was so blessed to have some folks decide to take the plunge and join my Fun n’ Crafty group yesterday as well, so turns out I was going full throttle yesterday and didn’t get a chance to finish up my Walkthrough Wednesday yet.

    But………

    We did it!!!

    image

Thanks to the support – cheering and orders – and the hard work of my Fun n’ Crafty Stampers group, May of next year I’ll be on that boat!!

So, now I’m going to take a day to reintroduce myself to my family Winking smile and soak it in!  I’ll be back tomorrow and it may be this week’s Walkthrough Wednesday is just going to have to come on a Thursday!

But from the bottom of my heart, thanks for stamping with me, chatting with me, or just taking the time to visit my blog here!  Its been an amazing year and I can’t wait to keep it rocking and rolling into the next!

  • See What I Did this Weekend!

Whew!  This weekend was a big one for me… two big events and so many awesome people and great ideas!  So I thought I’d share with you a little of the fun I was having!

    Bingo Night!

First up was Stamping Bingo Friday night.  I still have to take a picture of the make & takes, but everyone got goodie bags with paper samplers from the holiday catalog plus some ribbon, the NEW holiday tag a bag kit, and note cards & envelopes.  Then we played 5 rounds of Bingo, did a card and that cute Pumpkin Box I shared last week, and then 6 more rounds of Bingo including a grand prize round where someone was able to win the new Good Greetings hostess set that you can only earn by hosting a $300 workshop with your friends.  Lucky winner!

    2014-09-05 21.27.54

I’m thinking we may have to run this event again sometime! Smile

Then when I got home it was time to unload the Bingo stuff and start loading up for the Stampin’ Up Unite & Excite event on Saturday morning!  This is a new type of event that Stampin’ Up is sponsoring for demonstrators that brings local demonstrators together for a few hours of networking, idea sharing, inspiration, and fun.  I was hosting the Washington event and so I had all the goodies, the refreshments, and everything needed for the agenda to pack up and be ready to take with me to Redmond in the morning.

As seems to be typical for me these days, I decided at the last minute to gussy up my helper and presenter gifts – because you can’t give these special people just a stamp set as is… it has to have some fun and handmade touch to it, right???

    2014-09-06 00.41.54

I started out with quick tags (which I could handwrite a thank you on the back) and then used the same idea for little cards for the presenters and tied them to the gifts:

    2014-09-06 01.33.31

    Unite & Excite 2014

As host and MC for the morning, I got a chance to talk to and meet 75 wonderful demonstrators from the area.  And if you know me, you know I got a little bit goofy –

We had some wonderful presenters… great roundtable discussions… yummy snacks

10696316_10152698969733130_8913568922319231559_nAnd for the stamping inspiration, I brought my display boards but then invited everyone who came to bring projects they had created to share or their display boards… and boy were there great ideas!

Ever wonder what all the Stampin’ Up Big Shot dies look like?

It was such a fun event and I’m so grateful that Stampin’ Up gave me the opportunity to host it for everyone!  I had such a good time and I can’t wait to do more events like this in the future.

Want to join me for my next Demonstrator event?

I love running these types of events and I’ve been working the last year to start putting together Stamp and Share events for area demonstrators.  These events are half day events where we get together to share business and stamping tips, get lots of new ideas, win prizes, have fun and stamp together!  I ran my last one a couple weeks ago, but I plan to run these events around 3 times a year with my next one likely going to be in January.  If you are interested in being on my mailing list when the details are sent out, let me know by emailing me at jennifer@nwstamper.com!

I do smaller meetings and events for my personal downline and if you aren’t a demonstrator already, I’d love to have you join us!  Learn more about the perks of being a demonstrator in my group here.

  • Samples from the Stamp & Share

Whew!  What a fun but busy weekend.  I’m working on getting everything together for my Tuesday Technique Night on Blendabilities so I thought I would share a few of the awesome ideas that were on display at the Stamp & Share this weekend!

If you didn’t catch what this event was, it was a demonstrator event that I’ve been putting together where we can get together and share ideas, stamping techniques, projects, and just have a great time with fellow demonstrators.  For this event we had two stamping presentations:

Stacey Lane showed us how to make CUTE ornaments using the Simply Pressed clay and our stamps!

    2014-08-23 13.33.39

And Kathy Thisted shared tips and information on Blendabilities.

    2014-08-23 13.56.04

And of course there were lots of samples to look at as well.

These were some of the cards in the card contest for the event:

    2014-08-23 16.36.44-2

And more ideas on display including a canvas from Ikea colored with Blendabilities (did you know this started out as Black and White from the store??)

    2014-08-23 16.38.23

A fun card using the Banner punch created by Karen Trainer:
