When I had a hostess ask me this month to use Dragonfly Dreams for one of her event cards, I smiled and said “of course!” Then I did my best Winnie the Pooh impression and sat at my craft table poking my head and saying “think, think, think”. I had played a little with this set, but I hadn’t actually completed a full card yet. But, as I started thinking about what other supplies I had lying around my desk I wanted to play with (the Sale-a-Bration Glimmer Paper assortment and the Hexagons Dynamic Embossing folder), some ideas started coming together. In the end, what was left on my table was this finished card and a great opportunity to mix embossing styles and lots of textures all in one card!

Spotlight Collage Technique with Inside the Lines Paper
Hello! I’m back to share with you a fun and easy card that shows a neat Spotlight technique. So, if you’ve seen the spotlight technique before, it is the idea of having a larger black and white area – usually filled in with line art images – and then coloring in just a little bit of the area to make that spotlighted area POP! Well, in this case, the Inside the Lines designer paper (**free through the end of March with a $50 order) makes it super simple for you! This paper pack is all about the current coloring book trend and gives you 12×12 sheets of paper just begging for you to color them in.
Which brings us back to this technique, I just started with one big piece of the patterned paper and then I cut it into 3 parts. You can size these however you want, I just recommend: (more…)
