  • All About Guys – Card Class by Mail featuring Guy Greetings and Adventure Bound

I’ve been planning on this class for a while and I’m finally running it here locally on Friday (if you are in the Seattle area and want to join me, today is the last day to RSVP for Friday’s class!) But I’m also offering this as a class by mail and just love how the cards turned out!  Check them out:

All the cards feature the Guy Greetings Stamp Set & Adventure Bound designer paper stack from the Occasions Catalog and you can fill in the inside to make them work for Father’s Day, Birthday, Congrats and more for those guys in your life!

Details for joining me for this class in person or as a class by mail (including Instructions Only option) are below. I’d love to have you play along!

I thought I’d share one of my favorite cards from the set… this red classic car card.  Lots of fun layers without being too fussy or overdone don’t you think?

    Tips for making this card:

    • I love mixing and matching from the Adventure Bound designer paper stack.  Each paper gives you photo realistic prints on one side and guy friendly prints on the other.  Here I mixed a red plaid and a red pin stripe pattern, giving you cool subtle striping on the card front.
Note – this paper stack is only available until June 2nd, so if you love it, make sure you grab it soon!

    • tip – When adhering your burlap ribbon to your paper, I find it is often easier to run my tape runner onto the back of the *paper* instead of directly onto the ribbon.  The burlap texture sometimes has a hard time holding the adhesive right off the runner.
    • Layer your sentiment over the bottom edge of your paper with the car image to get a bit of dimension but also keep everything focused in one place.
    • Oh and sponging, seriously, I can’t live without sponging my edges it seems! Smile  For all my cards in this set, we sponged the edges with Crumb Cake ink using a sponge dauber for just the right touch of vintage.

    • And this card would work great for a birthday card, thank you card, father’s day card, anything you need.  Just add your custom sentiment to the inside and you are done!

Want to make all of these cards?

  • Come Join Me for Some Crafting!

I just got back from a fun Holiday Party and Vendor fair and after talking to folks all afternoon, I realized that my last couple classes for the month are happening in the next week!  So, I’m going to hurry up and put the finishing touches on my projects but in the meantime wanted to invite you to come join the fun too!

So, if you are in the San Francisco/San Jose area and are looking for something fun to do, I’d love to have you join me.

    • December Meet & Greet –  December 7th at 7pm
      • This is my monthly get together with my local meetup group (Bay Area Card Makers).  Folks come socials, show off the projects they have been working on, and I provide a free make & take project – usually a simple card for everyone to do.  You don’t need to bring anything and this is a perfect event for every skill level.
    • Thank You Card Stamp-a-Stack – December 12th at 2pm
      • We all know the holiday season means lots of gift exchanges and kindness from others. Be ready to show how much you appreciate it with a set of handmade thank you cards. We will be making 12 thank you cards – 3 each of 4 designs. Everything will be provided including envelopes for a supply fee of $25.

So, if you are interested in attending, you can RSVP through the meetup group or send me an email and I’ll make sure to have your supplies ready and waiting!

  • Rescheduled! Holiday Gift Bags, Boxes, and Tags class

scallop-bag-wmSo Sunday afternoon, we were planning on having a Holiday Gift boxes, bags, and tags workshop.  However, due to some illnesses during the week we ended up doing some open craft time and rescheduling the actual class.

It looks like the new tentative class date is the evening of Tuesday, Dec 9th (same day as the retired stamp list is announced).  So, if you were interested in coming but couldn’t make it on Sunday, drop me a line and join us for the newly scheduled class!  We’ll be making this cute little  bag as one of our projects!

    Recipe:
    Stamps:
Fun and Fast notes, Snowflake wheel
    Inks: Bashful blue, Hunter Green
Paper: Bashful Blue CS, Very Vanilla CS, Night of Navy CS
Accessories: Stampin’ Write Markers, Water pen, Night of Navy grosgrain ribbon, Scallop edge punch

  • Short pause in posts

Hi all, I just wanted to put up a quick post since I’m being a bit slow this week. Earlier this weekend I must have hurt a back muscle as I haven’t been very mobile the last couple days. I went to the dr this evening and was given prescriptions for some meds which may make me loopy for a couple days. End result – I’m going to try to get some posts together, but I might be a bit slow over the next couple days. I plan to be back this weekend though. I have to get my samples all ready for my next class this sunday!

And in case you are interested in joining us – I’m hosting a Gift Bags, Boxes, and Tags workshop on Sunday, Dec 7th at my home. We will be making a couple different style boxes and bags, and you will take home a stack of gift tags. It should be lots of fun and totally useful! If you are not in the area or can’t make it, I will be offering completed kits which I can ship to you. Email me if you are interested in attending or being sent a completed kit.

  • Sneak Peek at the Holiday Stamp-a-Stack

So, Saturday is the holiday stamp-a-stack and I have been working on creating samples for some of my sketches. Last night, I was planning on getting them all done, but then I remembered I needed to finish glueing together the cardfronts for a card swap I’m in, so while I got all 11 of those cards done, I only got 3.5 cards done for the workshop on Saturday.

There is still room in the group on Saturday, let me know if you would like to join us. I will also make card kits available if you cannot attend in person but want the supplies to make them on your own. Cost for the kits is the same as the class – you get all envelopes, precut supplies, and instructions for creating all the cards plus free shipping!

I’m still finalizing the set of cards we will be making but here are 3 very likely candidates.
