Have You Seen The New Holiday Mini?

September 2, 2011 under Updates

Its finally here!  The new Summer Mini has launched and I have to say I’m definitely in trouble with this one!  I already love my Simply Scored scoring tool and the new Spice Cake designer paper.  Yum!!  Check it out and let me know what your favorites are:

I’m currently in Las Vegas celebrating my 10 year anniversary with my hubby but being the crazy crafter that I am, I brought some of my new goodies along to play with during our “chill time” in the mornings before we go hit the town.  But if you are ever in Las Vegas and are looking for a great place for a special meal, I’d recommend Prime at the Bellagio.  We were able to get patio seating and this was are view while eating our delicious dinner:

Anyway, hope you all are having a wonderful friday before a long Labor Day weekend!  I’ll see you back here soon with more fun projects to share!

On The Road Again!

August 15, 2011 under Updates

When I was just out of school, my friends used to give me a hard time about the fact that I was always traveling.  They must have been right because its time for another trip!

IMG_2750We’ll be heading out tomorrow for the San Francisco Bay Area with my Mother-in-Law to lend support to my family as my 3 yr old nephew prepares for major surgery at Stanford later this week.  (That’s him on the left in the photo with Nicholas from earlier this summer…it was so cute, Nicholas wanted to hold hands the whole way home.)  But on a fun note, I’ll get a chance to visit with my friends and stamping buddies in the area.

Don’t Miss The Fun!

So, as I finish getting ready for our road trip, I’m also putting the finishing touches on some blog posts and projects to share with you while I’m away from home.  I’ll have new blog posts scheduled to publish each day including some cards, some projects, and even the first scrapbook page for the new baby!

I’m also getting ready to send out my August Newsletter.  Like always, I have exclusive tips and projects to share with you.  So, if you aren’t a member of my mailing listsign up today to make sure you get a copy!

Catching Up plus Something For You!

June 30, 2011 under Cards, Updates

Hello there! I know its been a while and can you believe it, its the end of the catalog year already! Yikes! Well, I’m going to try to get you all caught up, plus I have a little something for you too.

So, a quickie update for me – cause some inquiring minds want to know. :) Its been a crazy couple months for me with my big move to Washington plus at the same time (literally the exact same time), we found out we are expecting again in December! So all of that has made it so that I’ve been completely exhausted for the last couple months. Thankfully, the haze is wearing off, and I’m so excited to get back to stamping, the new catalog, and CONVENTION! Its going to be an awesome summer!

Alright, now on to more of the fun stuff – and getting you all caught up as well.

  • LAST DAY of the 2010-2011 Catalog!
Don’t miss out on your chance to grab some of the super cute items that will be no longer available after midnight MST tonight.  Some retiring papers and accessories are on sale but have been selling out, so grab them while you can because they will be gone tomorrow!  Plus, if you missed it on Facebook, I’m offering free shipping on all orders placed between now and July 5th.  So, stack savings on savings and get a great deal!

  • You’ve seen the Summer Mini, right?
I mentioned it on a blog post ages ago, and I figure that most of you either have the mini catalog or have seen it online.  But just in case you haven’t had a chance to check it out – you should!  There are some fun summer projects, stamp sets, and embellishments.  Plus a stamp set that Stampin’ Up came out with to support breast cancer research called Hope and Strength.  I’ll be posting more projects using items from this mini over the next couple months, so come back and visit me to see more ideas.  This catalog lasts until August 31st.

  • The NEW 2011-2012 Catalog comes out TOMORROW!!
Eek! So exciting!  I can’t wait to share with you the new Idea Book & Catalog.  I’ll be posting pictures and a link on my blog tomorrow when it goes live.  So, if you don’t have a physical copy quite yet, you can come back and visit and check it all out.  There are new stamps, new punches, new papers, new accessories, 5 new In Colors, and lots of project ideas combining the new with your old favorites!  Plus, did you catch that you can get free shipping with me this weekend through July 5th, so you can come check it out and then get an extra awesome deal when you place your order!  Are you excited yet?
PS – do you need a copy of the catalog?  Let me know and I’ll work with you to get you a copy.
  • Lots of new digital downloads for My Digital Studio and other digital crafting
Just a heads up for all you digital scrappers and crafters out there.  Stampin’ Up! has been going crazy adding a ton of new digital content online.  They have brought back retired stamp sets and papers in digital form (so you can even print out your favorite patterns to incorporate into your paper projects) as well as adding brand new images and patterns that aren’t even available in non-digital form.  There are so many cute items, that I can’t even describe them all.  But I DID update the catalog link on the right sidebar of my blog with a link to the latest PDF version of the digital download catalog.  It has pictures of everything currently available, so check it out and enjoy!
  • Did you catch FREE SHIPPING?!?
Just a couple details on my free shipping offer.  From now until July 5th, any order placed with me will get free shipping.  So you can use it to get your last chance items with free shipping, or all your new favorites with free shipping, or BOTH!  :)  The only catch is that orders must be placed by calling or emailing me; sorry, I don’t have a way to credit shipping charges for online purchases.

I’m so happy to be back to blogging and crafting and so grateful you have stopped by. :)  I have a lot to share and will have even more this month when I head to the Stampin’ Up! convention in a couple weeks!  Until next time, here is a card I made for a friend when I mailed her a new catalog; hope you enjoy!

Back and Blogging Again!

May 9, 2011 under Cards, Updates

Hello again!  Thanks for visiting again after my recent blog hiatus! :)   For those of you that didn’t know, I just finished a big move from California to Washington state.  Its been a crazy couple of weeks for finishing getting ready to go, driving myself, my hubby, my son, and 3 cats in a minivan up to the Seattle area, and then wading through too many boxes!  I still don’t have my craft room really unpacked, but I do have a bunch of projects that I can’t wait to share with you!

See I was smart, I finished a bunch of cards before I left and then I kept those projects out and with me so I could share photos when I had a chance post move.  Plus there have been a ton of new promotions and cool things Stampin’ Up! launched at the beginning of the month.  So, I’ll try not to overwhelm you in this post but will share lots of projects and info this week while I finish getting my craft room in working order again.

So, to start you off, I thought I’d share a card I did for a swap at my team meeting last month.  It uses the new Flower Garden embossing folder from the Summer Mini.

This is actually a really simple card to make… ok, assuming you count cutting around the embossed flowers simple… but otherwise, really easy to do!  I embossed a piece of Whisper White paper with the Flower Garden embossing folder.  Then I trimmed away the paper on the left side of the flowers.  I used an aqua pen to color in the flowers and then added a bit of bling by using a 2-way glue pen to add adhesive to the center of the flowers and sprinkling with gold glitter.  Attach to Pear Pizzazz paper and a So Saffron base and you have a fun and different card.

Happy Birthday to Mom!

March 4, 2011 under Cards, Updates

I had to put up a post today because it is a special day, it’s my mom’s birthday!

I just got back from a weeklong visit with her and my Dad, which was a lot of fun.  Nicholas got his first walk in snow and my mom got a ton of time to play grandma (which since we currently live two states apart, that is a valuable commodity).  And can you tell he loves being with his Grandma too?

IMG_2215

My mom is a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator and super crafter (you should see some of her cross-stich pieces and quilts!)  So, we spent the last week crafting but I didn’t want to make a card for her when she was sitting across the table from me, so I put together something after I got home with her in mind.  Its not your typical card layout but I just had too much to say. Smile

Want to share the birthday love? Stop by my mom’s blog and wish her a happy birthday.  She has no idea I’m posting this but I know it would bring a smile to her face.

Thanks for sharing my cheer and stopping by today!

Stampin’ Up! Regionals today!

October 21, 2010 under Updates

I don’t have a project share today but that is because I’m about to head to the Stampin’ Up! regional seminar in Portland, OR!  I’ve been up late trying to get my swaps wrapped up but haven’t had a chance to photograph them yet.  I can say that I think this will be one of the cards in my holiday card stamp-a-stacks that I’m holding Oct 29th and Nov 20th in Mountain View, CA.  I am super excited to be going to Regionals and can’t wait to get back online this weekend to share what I learned and the fabulous swaps and make & takes I got while I was there.  I’ll try to get a post up tonight with the first bits I can get photographed.

Until then, Happy Stamping!

A Moment of Silence

October 15, 2010 under Updates

This isn’t stamping related but I’m taking a day’s break today from my typical stamping projects and having a virtual moment of silence for my grandfather.

My grandfather had been struggling with Alzheimers for the last almost 10 years and had reached the point this year of requiring around the clock care and management.  Admirably, my grandmother stood by and supported and cared for him in their home that whole time until late this summer when she realized she needed more help and he moved into a hospice care home.  Sadly, last week he passed away and today is the funeral.  So, I am in Arizona to spend time with family and remember the man that could be stern and spunky all at the same time.

So, with that – I am taking today to remember my lost loved one and hoping all of you are surrounded by family and friends who love and support you.  Our cards, scrapbook pages, and other projects are neat to look at, but they are special because of the love and care we put into them that can be felt by those who view and receive them.  So, here is to family and friends and the love and support we can share with each other.

And to Grandpa, we love you and will miss you.  JAW 1925 – 2010

Making stamping and crafting your business

October 9, 2010 under Updates

Hi all!  I received some fun news yesterday that I just had to share with someone who would understand my excitement; and so I hope you all don’t mind me sharing with you. Smile

So, some quick background on me.
I joined Stampin’ Up! three years ago because I loved crafting, teaching others, and I liked the idea of the business opportunity.  Fast forward to this summer and I had spent my time as a demo working on my business here and there but mostly acted as a hobby demo and liberally took advantage of the 20% or more commission and sneak peeks/preorders.  So I decided that after convention this year, I was going to focus on making this really be a business for me.  And that’s what I’ve done the last few months.

My fun news?

I was told yesterday that my sales for this year (July 1 to now) are only $10 short of my sales for the entire last year (July 2009- June 2010)! Wow!! I had no idea!

So, I wanted to thank all of you for your support as friends, blog readers, and customers!  I absolutely love what I do and I love sharing it with you all.

I thought I would share a card I made almost two years ago but I still think it is a fun little card.

Now, I’m still building my business but it feels great to know that if you really decide and commit to making stamping and crafting your business, it can work!

If you’ve thought about becoming a demo, I’d love to answer any questions you have and share information about the business opportunities and the benefits of being a demonstrator.  I know that I’m so glad I did!

A Handmade Wedding Book and Card

September 27, 2010 under Cards, Updates

I’m back!  I had such a blast in Vegas. This was my first vacation since having my son, and though I missed him, it was great to have adult time and he got some quality time with Grandma. We also lucked in to a crazy room upgrade – we got a room on the “50”th floor looking at the Bellagio fountains! Amazing!

vegas hotel room view

We were there for our friends wedding and so I had made them a book to save the photos and memories of this trip.  I got the supplies and learned the binding technique at a store demonstration when visiting my mom.  Now that I get how it works, I’m going to see if I can replicate it with Stampin’ Up! supplies.

I had the book all ready to go, but still needed to make a card, so I took my supplies with me and planned to put it together in Vegas.  Well, I discovered when unpacking that I completely forgot my clear mounts!  So I had to get a little creative so I could mount my sentiment. Smile Turns out, if you are desperate, you can use the stamp case as a mount.  It doesn’t work as well as a clear block, but it will work!

But in the end, I was able to pull together a card that I love and was so happy to give to them while celebrating this awesome time for them.
